Profile Hans Lutters
Dip RMT, MNZ, EAS & NGS - Massage & Lymphatic Therapist
Hans successfully completed several studies in the area of massage therapy and MLD in The Netherlands. He holds Dutch Diplomas in Sports Massage Therapy, Advanced Courses in Kinetics and Injury Prevention and a Diploma in Manual Lymphatic Drainage according the techniques of Dr. Emil Vodder. In New Zealand Hans completed the Dr John & Judith Casley-Smith Level I and II MLD courses which proved to be a valuable addition to his professional knowledge and skills. He also obtained a post graduate diploma in Remedial Massage Therapy and a Certificate in Advanced Sports Massage at the Canterbury College of Natural Medicine. Hans is registered with the Massage Association of New Zealand (MNZ) and is a NZ Academy of Sport provider to elite athletes. Hans is very passionate about and dedicated to his work. He believes in the value of honesty, loyalty and a good sense of humor, which are clearly visible in his daily pratice.
As well as running his own clinic, Hans participates as a massage and MLD therapist at SportsMed Canterbury. SportsMed is New Zealand’s leading Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic. Hans values the benefits of working within their top quality, multi disciplinary team of Physicians, Physiotherapists, Podiatrists, Chiropractors and Dieticians.
Over the last few years Hans has seen a fast development in the demand for lymphoedema treatments. Therefore he developed a short, 3 day course to train fellow practitioners in New Zealand. Besides sharing his knowledge with fellow health professionals, Hans enjoys learning more about their experience and expertise at the same time. To ensure ongoing quality within his business and work, Hans regularly attends advanced courses and workshops to keep his own knowledge up to date.
At least twice a week Hans makes his way to the gym to keep up his own level of fitness. Besides that he is a dedicated family man who enjoys biking and other outdoor activities with his wife and two sons.
Profile Victoria Walden
Dip RMT, MNZ - Massage & Lymphatic Therapist
In April 2010 Victoria joined the team of Hands On Lymphatics & Massage Therapy Ltd. Victoria is a qualified Massage Therapist who completed her study in 2009 at the Otago Polytechnic in Dunedin, New Zealand, graduating with Merit in Advanced Therapeutic Massage. Victoria is specialised and experienced in a wide range of therapies, including sports, relaxation, stress management, spa therapies, pregnancy and neuromuscular therapy. In 2009 Victoria successfully completed a course in Manual Lymphatic Drainage, adding another modality to the treatments she provides. Victoria is registered with the Massage Association of New Zealand (MNZ). In order to maintain her level of expertise and to maintain her ongoing professional development Victoria regularly attends workshops and conferences.
Victoria is an outgoing person who enjoys sports and the outdoors, especially snow skiing and water skiing. She has a large sporting background including medaling in national rowing championships. Based on the experiences she is now keen to contribute to the sporting and recreational community in a professional way.
Profile Lejorben Lutters
Registered Nurse, Clinic Manager
Lejorben became a Registered Nurse after completing a four years inservice nursing training in 1999 at the Rijnijssel College / Rijnstate Hospital in Arnhem, the Netherlands. In 2002 she became specialised in Dialysis nursing after successfully completing the post graduate Dialysis training at the Verpleegkundige Vervolgopleidingen of the University Medical Centre St. Radboud in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. For nine years Lejorben gained a wealth of international experience in Dialysis nursing by working in different roles for dialysis units in the Netherlands and New Zealand. Lejorben is currently working part time as a Registered Nurse for the Dialysis Services in Christchurch Hospital.
In 2008 Lejorben started participating in Hands On Lymphatics & Massage Therapy Ltd as compression garment consultant. Using them herself on a daily base for medical reasons, Lejorben knows how important it is to provide appropriate and comfortable compression garments based on the individual needs of her clients. In order to keep up to date with the newest developments in compression garments for sports, medical or travel purposes, Lejorben increases her knowledge by reading the latest studies and by interacting with other health care professionals and specialists.
Besides her professional career Lejorben is a proud mother of two energetic, lovely boys. She enjoys spending time with her family in New Zealand’s great outdoors, but also tries to make time for her personal passion of running.
Profile Sarah Abbott
BPhty, PG Dip SPMX - Physiotherapist
In August 2011, Hands On Clinic welcomed the arrival of Sarah to their team. Sarah qualified as a physiotherapist, graduating with Credit, from the university of Otago in 2001. She completed the Post Graduate Diploma of Sports Medicine from the University of Otago in 2009, also graduating with credit. Sarah is registered with the New Zealand Board of Physiotherapists and holds memberships with Physiotherapy New Zealand and New Zealand Sport Medicine. She regularly attends conferences and courses to maintain her professional developement.
Sarah enjoys working with all people, from children and the elderly, to the high level athlete. She has a special interest in postural analysis and rehabilitation and has previously provided gym-based physiotherapy rehabilitation programmes for ACC. In recent years Sarah has provided physiotherapy for the Canterbury Tennis High-Performance Squad, the Christchurch Sirens Basketball Team, a local Club Rugby Team and for Ngaio Marsh Retirement Village.
More recently, Sarah has become a mother and is now enjoying watching her son grow and develop.
